The is no greater reward than charity work. 10 years ago I started work as a weekly volunteer at Ronald McDonald House Randwick. In 2008 I became one of the house ambassadors and in the years to come I hope to become a board member. Its a wonderful environment to work, there are highs and lows, that goes without saying. But first and foremost it is a charity that helps families stay together during the toughest of times. I know from personal experience, having family and friends close by during tough times certainly makes those times a little easier.
My message to all is find a charity close to your heart and give some time, you will never regret it.
In 2014 I added the Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea to my charity commitments. Sharing cake and tea (or coffee) with family, friends and colleagues while raising money for cancer research is a win win.
Go on get involved. sadly its inevitable we will all need their help one day.
